Marlen Reusser of Switzerland won the elite women's individual time trial at the 2025 UCI Road World Championships in Kigali, finally securing the rainbow jersey after previously placing second or third multiple times. Despite a season disrupted by illness and setbacks, including a gastrointestinal virus, food poisoning, and flu, Reusser displayed extraordinary power and consistency during the 31.2km course, overtaking early leaders Anna van der Breggen and Demi Vollering.
