PG&E Plans Power Shutoffs in California

Tuolumne County is bracing for severe weather this weekend, leading Pacific Gas and Electric (PG&E) to implement power shutoffs affecting nearly 4,000 customers in the area to mitigate fire risks. In total, approximately 28,000 customers across Northern and Central California may experience outages due to dangerous weather conditions. Resource centers are being established in Sonora and Mi-Wuk Village to assist affected residents. Meanwhile, a separate power outage impacting over 3,500 customers is reported along Highway 108, prompting PG&E to assess and repair the electrical system. In Madera County, additional power shutoffs are expected to commence on Friday, affecting multiple communities, with community resource centers available to support residents. Residents are urged to prepare for these outages as safety measures are put in place.
