Kimberly Williams-Paisley Recovers Voice After Surgery

Actress Kimberly Williams-Paisley, known for her roles in 'Father of the Bride', revealed she was unable to speak for nearly two years due to muscle tension dysphonia, a condition that partially paralyzed her left vocal cord. The ordeal began in November 2022 during a fundraising event, where she was unable to produce sound, leading to feelings of invisibility and shame. Despite trying various therapies, including acupuncture and voice coaching, it wasn't until August 2024 that she underwent a three-hour surgery to correct the issue, which successfully restored her voice. Williams-Paisley expressed that the experience taught her more about herself and helped build her confidence. Now, she uses a hollow plastic swan as a tool to amplify her voice, further aiding her recovery. Throughout this challenging period, her husband, Brad Paisley, and their two sons provided significant emotional support.
