In response to the devastation caused by Hurricane Helene, utility crews from various states are mobilizing to assist with power restoration efforts across the Southeast. Eversource and New Hampshire Electric Co-op are deploying workers to North Carolina, while Duke Energy is sending about 180 employees to Florida, where over 2 million customers are without power. Crews from Connecticut, Massachusetts, and New Hampshire are also heading to Virginia to support Appalachian Power. South Carolina's electric cooperatives are facing significant challenges, with approximately 276,000 members still without power and major infrastructure needing to be rebuilt. ComEd is contributing by sending 130 workers to South Carolina and Georgia as part of recovery efforts. The storm has left over 3.2 million customers without electricity and caused at least 57 fatalities across multiple states.
