Jason Eck Named Head Coach at New Mexico

Eck, who led Idaho to a 26-13 record over three seasons, was instrumental in revitalizing the Vandals, securing three consecutive playoff berths, and achieving a rare 10-win season. His move to New Mexico comes after a successful tenure at Idaho, where he developed a winning culture despite challenges such as player transfers and financial constraints. Eck replaces Bronco Mendenhall, who left for Utah State after a 5-7 season with New Mexico. Known for his extensive coaching experience, Eck faces the challenge of rebuilding a New Mexico team that hasn't had a winning season since 2016. The decision marks the first major hire for New Mexico's Athletic Director Fernando Lovo.
