Bird Flu Concerns Widen Across US and UK

In Michigan, a domestic cat was infected, leading to a public health investigation after the virus was confirmed in local dairy cattle. The outbreak has also been noted in grey seals on the Norfolk coast in the UK, although the risk to non-avian wildlife remains low. In New Jersey, dead waterfowl have been found along the Shark River and on beaches, prompting testing for the H5N1 strain and temporary park closures in Allentown. These developments highlight the need for vigilant monitoring and swift public health responses to prevent potential transmission to humans.
