Jay Slater's Death in Tenerife Ruled Accidental

Jay Slater, a 19-year-old from Lancashire, died by accident after falling 20 to 25 metres down a ravine in Tenerife while attempting a 14-hour trek back to his holiday apartment after a night out at the NRG music festival. He had left the resort area with two men and stayed at an Airbnb in the remote village of Masca, before attempting to return alone. Jay contacted friends, saying he was lost in the mountains and needed water, but his phone battery died shortly after.
