Koivun Earns PGA Card, Returns to Auburn

Auburn University sophomore Jackson Koivun earned his PGA Tour card by tying for fourth place at the NCAA Division I Men's Golf Championship, achieving the required 20 points in the PGA Tour University Accelerated Program. Koivun is only the third player to receive PGA Tour status through this pathway, joining Gordon Sargent and Luke Clanton. Despite qualifying for immediate TOUR membership, he has chosen to return to Auburn for his junior season to further develop his game and education. Koivun became the first player to win the Fred Haskins, Ben Hogan, and Jack Nicklaus Awards in a single year. He emphasized the importance of collegiate golf, academic growth, and NIL opportunities in his decision to delay turning professional. Koivun's approach reflects a wider trend among elite amateurs prioritizing readiness and education before joining the PGA Tour.
