Bulls Re-Sign Tre Jones in Three-Team Trade
The Chicago Bulls have re-signed guard Tre Jones to a three-year, $24 million contract at the start of NBA free agency, per multiple reports. Jones, 25, joined the Bulls last season through a three-team trade involving the San Antonio Spurs and Sacramento Kings, which sent Zach LaVine to Sacramento and De'Aaron Fox to San Antonio. In 18 games with Chicago, Jones averaged 11.5 points, 4.9 assists, 3.2 rebounds, and 1.1 steals, shooting 57.2% from the field and 50% from three-point range. Although he missed the end of the season with a left foot sprain, he is expected to be ready for training camp. The Bulls now have Jones and Coby White under contract while monitoring the status of restricted free agent Josh Giddey. Meanwhile, Tyus Jones, Tre’s brother, has agreed to a one-year, $7 million deal with the Orlando Magic.
