New York State Purchases Dame Dash's Roc-A-Fella Stake

New York State has acquired a one-third stake in Roc-A-Fella Records owned by Dame Dash for $1 million at an auction aimed at recouping Dash's substantial tax debt of $8.7 million. The state used a creditor's bid, allowing them to purchase the share without upfront payment and with the potential to resell it at no risk. This auction followed legal claims and delayed proceedings, including a dispute from Jay-Z over ownership rights to his debut album, 'Reasonable Doubt', which is a key asset of the company. In addition to the tax debt, Dash owes over $193,000 in child support. Attorney Chris Brown, representing those owed money by Dash, emphasized that Dash's legacy is now owned by the state, which plans to work on the next steps for ownership. Dame Dash has not publicly commented on the auction outcome as he focuses on promoting his new film.
