Paramount Develops Live-Action Rugrats Movie

The beloved 1990s Nickelodeon animated series 'Rugrats' is set to return to the big screen as a live-action/CGI hybrid film. Directed by Jason Moore of 'Pitch Perfect' fame, the film will feature iconic characters like Tommy Pickles, Chuckie Finster, and the DeVille twins animated within a real-world setting, similar to the 'Sonic the Hedgehog' movies. The screenplay is penned by 'Saturday Night Live' star Mikey Day and head writer Streeter Seidell. Paramount Studios is behind the project, bringing together original 'Rugrats' co-creators Arlene Klasky and Gábor Csupó as producers. This marks a continuation of the franchise, which previously inspired three animated films and a 2021 reboot on Paramount+. A release date for the new 'Rugrats' movie has not yet been announced.
