Rutgers, Temple, WVU Announce Future Football Series

Rutgers and Temple have agreed to a four-year, home-and-home football series beginning in 2030, alternating between Philadelphia and Piscataway through 2033 to renew their longstanding regional rivalry, with Rutgers currently leading 24-15. In addition, Temple has announced a renewed rivalry with Delaware, starting a two-game series in 2032 and 2033. West Virginia University has updated its future non-conference football schedule, including games against UT Martin in 2026, Youngstown State in 2028, Rhode Island in 2030, and VMI in 2031. These scheduling decisions highlight a broader trend among regional programs to prioritize matchups with local opponents, which is expected to benefit recruiting and fan engagement. The last meeting between Rutgers and Temple occurred in 2023, with Rutgers winning 36-7. Rutgers' future non-conference schedules also include opponents like Boston College, Kent State, Miami-Ohio, and UMass.
