Marine Veteran Removed from Delta Flight Over T-Shirt

Catherine Banks, a Marine Corps veteran, was removed from a Delta flight at San Francisco International Airport for wearing a T-shirt that read, "Do not give in to the war within. End veteran suicide," which a flight attendant deemed threatening. Despite her 37 years of military service, Banks was told by the attendant that she could only reboard if she changed her shirt. After complying and putting on a sweatshirt, she was seated at the back of the plane, missing her connecting flight due to delays. Banks expressed her disbelief at the incident, stating that the shirt was intended to raise awareness about veteran suicide. Delta Airlines acknowledged the situation, stating they were working to understand what happened and expressed gratitude for Banks' service. The airline's policy allows them to remove passengers if their attire is deemed offensive or threatening.
