The Indian Paralympic contingent, the largest ever with 84 athletes, received a grand send-off ahead of the Paris Paralympics 2024, which will take place from August 28 to September 8. Union Sports Minister Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya and other officials expressed strong confidence in the team's ability to secure more than 25 medals, improving upon the 19 medals won in Tokyo. The athletes will compete in 12 disciplines, including archery, athletics, and badminton, and have benefited from initiatives like Khelo India. PCI President Devendra Jhajharia emphasized the rigorous training the athletes have undergone and their readiness to make India proud. Noteworthy participants include seasoned athletes like Amit Kumar Saroha and young talents such as 17-year-old archer Sheetal Devi.
