Himachal Pradesh's Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu announced a restructuring of the State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT) and District Institutes of Education and Training (DIETs) to enhance the quality of education in the state. He attributed the decline in the state's education ranking to poor policies from the previous BJP government and emphasized his administration's commitment to improving educational standards. As part of this initiative, surplus Mid-Day-Meal workers from merged schools will be reassigned to nearby institutions instead of facing termination. Furthermore, the government is introducing foreign exposure visits for teachers and meritorious students to adopt best practices and gain valuable experiences. The Chief Minister also highlighted efforts to bolster sports infrastructure, including organizing separate sports events for younger students aged 6 to 11 as part of under-14 tournaments. These measures are aimed at fostering a comprehensive educational environment and improving overall student performance.
