Three Charged with Manslaughter After Fatal Golf Course Crash
Three men have been charged with manslaughter following the death of Suzanne Cherry, a 62-year-old mother of three, who was fatally struck by a grey Nissan van at Aston Wood Golf Club on April 11. The incident occurred during a police pursuit after reports of suspicious activity involving the vehicle. John McDonald, 51, was charged with manslaughter, assault by beating, and failing to stop when directed by a constable, while Johnny McDonald, 22, and Brett Delaney, 34, were charged with manslaughter. Suzanne Cherry died in hospital four days after the crash, and specialist officers are supporting her family. The Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) is investigating the circumstances leading up to the collision. Several other individuals have been arrested or bailed in connection with the investigation.
