Arsenal Sign Kepa, Eye Midfield Reinforcements
Arsenal have signed 30-year-old Spanish goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga from Chelsea for £5 million on a three-year contract. Kepa, who holds the record as the world's most expensive goalkeeper after his £71.6 million transfer to Chelsea in 2018, spent recent seasons on loan at Real Madrid and Bournemouth, achieving nine clean sheets in 35 matches last season. He joins Arsenal to provide competition for fellow Spaniard David Raya and replaces Neto, who returned to Bournemouth after a loan spell. Kepa departs Chelsea after 163 appearances and four major trophies, including the Champions League and Europa League, and expressed gratitude to the club and fans. Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta praised Kepa's experience and hunger, expecting him to elevate the squad. The transfer comes as Arsenal are reportedly looking to add further midfield reinforcements.
