Father, Son Found Dead in San Antonio Murder-Suicide

San Antonio police are investigating an apparent murder-suicide involving a father and son found dead with gunshot wounds to their heads on the Southeast Side. The victims, believed to be in their early 60s and early 30s, were discovered on a driveway near Dewitt Avenue and Blue Wing Road by a family member. Authorities have not yet confirmed which of the two men was the shooter, and the Bexar County Medical Examiner’s Office is working to identify the victims and determine the exact cause of death. Meanwhile, in Alamance County, North Carolina, 59-year-old James Thomas Daye was charged with murdering his 34-year-old step-son, Thomas Jeffries Jr., after a birthday celebration turned deadly. Daye shot Jeffries with a shotgun, and was denied bond following his arrest, with his next court date scheduled for September 11, 2025. Both incidents highlight ongoing concerns about family violence resulting in fatal shootings.
