Joliet Police Arrest Two in 2022 Teen Murder

Joliet police arrested Angel Magana and Latrell Woodall, both 20, charging them with three counts of first-degree murder, attempted first-degree murder, and aggravated battery for a 2022 shooting that killed 16-year-old Tremarion 'Tre' Williams and wounded a 13-year-old boy. Eleuterio Roman, a third suspect, has been in custody on similar charges since April 2023. In a separate incident on East Benton Street, a 22-year-old woman and a 23-year-old man sustained non-life-threatening injuries when they were shot near a vehicle; gunfire also struck a residence and several vehicles. Police have not identified a motive in the Benton Street shooting. Joliet Police Chief Bill Evans praised detectives and tactical officers for their dedication in both cases and pledged continued efforts toward community safety. Authorities are encouraging anyone with information or video footage on the Benton Street incident to contact police or submit anonymous tips.
