Greg James Reveals Real Name and Fiancée Status

BBC Radio 1 host Greg James has revealed that his real surname is Milward, not James, which he adopted for its appeal in the broadcasting world. Speaking on Kathy Burke's podcast, he explained his decision was influenced by his perception that Milward sounded 'like a teacher's name', given his father was a headteacher. Although he expressed some regret over not choosing a more creative name, he acknowledged it was too late to change once his career took off. This revelation comes as he prepares to release his first non-fiction adult book, 'The Kid Who Fell Through Time', where he plans to use his full name. Despite the name confusion, Greg James remains a popular figure and attributes much of his current happiness to his fiancée, Bella Mackie.
