Lynn Man Charged with Murder in Homicide of Ilias Mavros

Eric German-Pena, a 25-year-old man from Lynn, has been charged with murder in connection with the death of Ilias Mavros, a 48-year-old sub shop owner, who was found dead with apparent signs of trauma during a wellness check at his home on Stanwood Street. Authorities reported that Mavros was pronounced dead at the scene on Monday evening, and the Essex County District Attorney's office indicated that probable cause had been developed to charge German-Pena. Family concerns prompted police to conduct the check after Mavros failed to show up for work. The investigation is ongoing, with assistance from the Massachusetts State Police Detective Unit and the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.
