Kody Michael Holmes Charged in Kidnapping Case

The events started early Saturday when Holmes shot a 43-year-old man multiple times, leaving him critically injured and paralyzed, after an argument escalated. Holmes then kidnapped a woman and a juvenile, holding them at gunpoint for several hours before releasing them in Kansas City. Following the woman’s call for help, police initiated a pursuit that ended with Holmes's arrest after he attempted to evade officers. He was apprehended after a multi-county chase and is now held on a $500,000 cash bond. The investigation continues as authorities gather details from the victims and witnesses.
