Aaliyah Nye Drafted 13th by Las Vegas Aces

Aaliyah Nye, a standout basketball player from East Lansing, was selected 13th overall by the Las Vegas Aces in the WNBA Draft. Nye had an impressive college career at Alabama, where she set the school record for three-pointers in a season and averaged 15.2 points per game. She was previously a top player at East Lansing, achieving state honors as Miss Basketball runner-up. The Las Vegas Aces also picked Harmoni Turner from Harvard, who was selected 35th overall and was the Ivy League Player of the Year. Nye and her former Alabama teammate Sarah Ashlee Barker, who was picked ninth by the Los Angeles Sparks, both made significant contributions to their college team's success.
