Multiple Fatalities in Weekend Road Incidents Across Ireland

A series of tragic road incidents in Ireland over the weekend resulted in multiple fatalities. In Co Mayo, a man in his 50s died in a single-vehicle crash on the R323, prompting Gardaí to seek witnesses and camera footage. In Co Cork, a collision on the N72 Mallow-Killarney road claimed the lives of drivers Mary Coughlan and Susan O’Sullivan, and left two children injured. Another woman in her 30s passed away after being struck by a vehicle in Co Kilkenny, and a separate three-vehicle crash in Co Waterford resulted in one more fatality. These deaths contribute to the 40 road fatalities recorded in Ireland this year, a decrease compared to the same period last year.
