Wagon Overturns During Wisconsin Field Trip

On Wednesday, a field trip to Bushel and a Peck Apple Orchard in Lafayette, Wisconsin, turned tragic when a tractor-pulled wagon overturned, injuring approximately 25 children and adults. The wagon rolled over while going downhill at a low speed, leading to three individuals suffering life-threatening injuries and five others with serious injuries. Emergency responders from at least 10 agencies were dispatched to the scene, where victims were transported to hospitals by various means, including helicopter and ambulances. The children were from St. Mark Lutheran Church in Eau Claire, and authorities commended their bravery during the incident. Sheriff Travis Hakes reassured the public that the situation was managed effectively and highlighted the importance of the chaperones' preparedness in reuniting children with their families. Fortunately, no fatalities were reported.
