Two Arrested for Second-Degree Murder in Vinita Homicide Investigation
On September 22, 2025, the Vinita Police Department requested the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation (OSBI) to assist in investigating a suspicious death at a property on South Foreman Street in Vinita. An adult male victim was found and transported to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced dead; the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner confirmed the injuries were consistent with homicide. OSBI agents identified two suspects, Renee Carpenter, 43, and Jacob Bailey, 38, who were arrested and booked into the Craig County Jail on second-degree murder charges. The investigation remains ongoing and will be forwarded to the Craig County District Attorney’s Office to determine official charges. The victim's identity has not been released, and authorities have not provided additional details at this time. OSBI continues to assist the Vinita Police Department in this case.
