HarbourView Secures $30M Minority Investment in Lion Forge Entertainment

HarbourView Equity Partners has led a $30 million minority investment in Lion Forge Entertainment, an award-winning, Black-owned animation and family entertainment studio founded by David Steward II. The investment will support Lion Forge’s expansion of its intellectual property portfolio and franchise pipeline across kids, family, YA, and adult content, reinforcing the studio’s growth initiatives. Lion Forge, known for projects like the Oscar-winning Hair Love and the popular series Iyanu, has a multiyear first-look deal with Nickelodeon and partnerships with notable entities such as Penguin Young Readers and George R.R. Martin. Sherrese Clarke, founder and CEO of HarbourView, emphasized the importance of authentic, socially relevant storytelling that reflects evolving cultural paradigms. The Steward Family and Polarity remain majority shareholders, and the partnership aims to optimize opportunities at the intersection of entertainment, culture, and content, positioning Lion Forge as a category-defining media company. This investment reflects a broader trend of private equity interest in scalable, franchise-driven content platforms within the media and entertainment landscape.
