Former University City High School science teacher Sean Stevenson, 59, has been sentenced to 10 years in federal prison for attempting to pay for sex with a person he believed to be a 16-year-old girl, who was actually an undercover officer. Stevenson was arrested on Oct. 24, 2023, after arriving at a pre-arranged meeting location with $140 in cash. Following his release, he will be placed on supervised release for 15 years and must register as a sex offender. His arrest and conviction came after an investigation that began with the arrests of a pimp and prostitute in April 2023, leading to incriminating text messages from Stevenson. Stevenson expressed remorse for his actions and will undergo sex offender treatment in prison.
