Police in Buenos Aires raided the Olivos Clinic overnight to seize Diego Maradona’s complete medical records, following a court order during the ongoing trial of seven healthcare professionals accused of negligence in his 2020 death. The raid was prompted by testimony from the clinic’s medical director, who stated that pre-surgical studies for Maradona’s brain surgery were performed without complications, but these studies were missing from his official medical history. Authorities secured approximately 275 pages of documents and 547 emails exchanged among the medical staff on trial. Maradona underwent surgery for a hematoma between his skull and brain at the clinic and stayed in intensive care from November 4 to 11, 2020, before being discharged to a private home where he died on November 25 at age 60. The trial is set to continue later this week as the investigation into possible medical negligence progresses.
