Father, son killed in suspected DUI crash in Merced County
A tragic car accident on Highway 165 in Merced County resulted in the deaths of Adrian Reyes, 41, and his 13-year-old son, Noah Reyes. The collision occurred around 12:20 a.m. when Melissa Rosales, a 20-year-old from Los Banos, allegedly drove a BMW SUV while intoxicated, crossing double-yellow lines and hitting the Reyeses' Honda Accord head-on. Both victims died at the scene, while Rosales sustained major injuries and was airlifted to a hospital. The California Highway Patrol (CHP) arrested Rosales on suspicion of DUI and vehicular manslaughter. Authorities are investigating the crash and have requested that anyone with information contact Officer Rolando Flores. A memorial fundraiser is being organized to assist the Reyes family with funeral expenses.
