Francis Lui Appointed Chairman of Galaxy Entertainment

Galaxy Entertainment Group (GEG) has appointed Francis Lui Yiu Tung as its new chairman, following the death of his father and the company's founder, Lui Che Woo, on November 7 at the age of 95. Francis, who has been with the company since 1979 and served as deputy chairman since 1997, expressed his commitment to realizing his father's vision of transforming GEG into a leading integrated tourism and leisure company. The board unanimously supports Francis's appointment, believing his leadership will continue to positively impact the group's business development. Analysts in the investment community anticipated this transition, noting GEG's strong management structure and potential for capital growth. GEG recently reported significant financial performance with a 52% rise in net profits for the first half of 2024, further solidifying its status in the Macau gaming industry. The company operates three major properties in Macau: Galaxy Macau, StarWorld Hotel, and Broadway Macau.
