Row K Entertainment Acquires Gus Van Sant’s Dead Man’s Wire
Row K Entertainment, a newly launched U.S. theatrical distribution company under Media Capital Technologies, has acquired the North American rights to Gus Van Sant's film "Dead Man's Wire." The film, starring Bill Skarsgård, Dacre Montgomery, Cary Elwes, Myha’la, Colman Domingo, and Al Pacino, tells the true story of the 1977 kidnapping of Indianapolis entrepreneur Tony Kiritsis, which made him an eccentric outlaw folk hero. "Dead Man's Wire" premiered at the Venice Film Festival with an enthusiastic audience reception and had its North American premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival. Row K's principals expressed excitement about aligning with Van Sant and the film's ambitious, artist-driven vision, marking this as their inaugural release. The acquisition deal was negotiated by Cassian Elwes of Elevated Films and Paula Paizes and Sam Pressman of Pressman Film, with WME Independent representing worldwide rights. The company aims to champion bold cinema with a commitment to theatrical distribution, underlining their confidence in the film's potential for critical and commercial success.
