Emilia Esther Calleja Alor has been appointed by Mexican President-elect Claudia Sheinbaum as the first woman to lead the Comision Federal de Electricidad (CFE), the state power firm. Calleja, who has over 20 years of experience within CFE and currently serves as the director of its power generation unit, aims to execute Sheinbaum's energy policy focused on enhancing energy generation capacity and transitioning towards renewable sources.
