Broken Lizard Begins Filming Super Troopers 3 Sequel

The cult comedy franchise "Super Troopers" is set to return with its third installment, "Super Troopers 3," as production has officially begun. The original comedy troupe Broken Lizard—Jay Chandrasekhar, Kevin Heffernan, Steve Lemme, Paul Soter, and Erik Stolhanske—will reprise their roles, with Chandrasekhar directing once again. Brian Cox and Marisa Coughlan will also return, joined by new cast members including Nat Faxon, Chace Crawford, and Andrew Dismukes. The franchise, known for its blend of absurd humor and memorable characters, has enjoyed enduring popularity since the first film's 2001 release and its 2018 sequel, which was crowdfunded and grossed $32 million. Searchlight Pictures, which has collaborated with Broken Lizard for over two decades, is producing the film, with principal photography starting imminently. While a release date has not yet been announced, the film aims to continue the comedic legacy and fan-favorite antics of the Vermont State Troopers.
