Four Arrested Over £1M Burglary Spree Across Cheshire, Midlands

Four individuals, including three Albanian men and one British woman, have been arrested in connection with a series of at least 37 high-value burglaries across the UK, spanning from October 2024 to March 2025. The arrests followed coordinated raids at addresses in Walsall, Sutton Coldfield, and Birmingham involving over 30 officers from multiple police forces as part of Cheshire Police's Operation Ambler. The burglaries targeted affluent residential properties in several counties, including Cheshire, Staffordshire, Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire, Durham, Cleveland, West Mercia, and Warwickshire, with ten specifically in Cheshire in areas such as Alderley Edge, Prestbury, Macclesfield, and Whitegate. Stolen items include expensive watches and handbags, with the total value of stolen goods believed to exceed £1 million. Detective Sergeant Laura Fox of Macclesfield CID emphasized that the crimes were carefully planned and coordinated, involving breaking in through first-floor windows and doors to ransack homes. The arrests are seen as a significant step in disrupting this organized crime operation and provide reassurance to the affected communities.
