Clarksburg Explosion Kills One, Evacuates Neighborhood
A house explosion in the Chestnut Hills neighborhood of Clarksburg, West Virginia, claimed the life of one man and led to the evacuation of nearby homes on Sunday. Firefighters found residents assisting the victim, who later died from his injuries at the hospital. The explosion caused significant damage, scattering debris and shattering windows across a multi-block area. A gas leak was reported following the blast, prompting a five-block evacuation, although some residents were allowed to return the next day. The State Fire Marshal's office is currently investigating the cause of the explosion. Officials have emphasized the importance of avoiding the area until it is declared safe.
