Glen Powell has received Arnold Schwarzenegger's blessing to play Ben Richards in the upcoming remake of 'The Running Man,' a role originally made famous by Schwarzenegger in the 1987 film. Powell shared that he connected with Schwarzenegger via FaceTime, facilitated by his friendship with Patrick Schwarzenegger. The remake, directed by Edgar Wright, is set to release on November 7, 2025, and will feature a new take on the story, which revolves around a deadly game show where contestants, labeled as 'runners,' must evade professional killers. Powell described the production process as the hardest of his life and expressed excitement about the project, highlighting a special gift they plan to present to Schwarzenegger. The film's cast includes Josh Brolin and Colman Domingo, among others, with first-look footage recently unveiled at CinemaCon. This reboot marks nearly 37 years since the original film's debut, which was based on Stephen King's novel.
