Cynthia Nixon's Son Leads Gaza Hunger Strike

Actress and activist Cynthia Nixon revealed that her 28-year-old transgender son, Seph Mozes, is on a hunger strike in Chicago to protest U.S. military support for Israel and raise awareness about the humanitarian crisis in Gaza. Seph, an observant Jew and University of Chicago alum, is participating with Jewish Voices for Peace, a Jewish anti-Zionist group. Nixon highlighted that Seph was partly inspired by his Holocaust survivor grandparents and does not expect to end the war, but wants to help. Nixon herself joined a hunger strike for Gaza in November 2023. The hunger strike occurs as Israeli military actions in Gaza have resulted in over 55,000 reported Palestinian deaths and famine conditions warned by the World Food Program. Protests against Israel's actions and U.S. support have become more visible across American cities and campuses.
