Dalma Maradona Testifies Doctors Neglected Father, Claims His Death Preventable

Dalma Maradona, daughter of the late football legend Diego Maradona, has testified in court that her father's death could have been prevented if his medical team had provided proper care following his brain surgery in November 2020. The seven-member medical team, on trial for alleged negligence, faces charges of 'homicide with possible intent,' as they reportedly assured the family of adequate home care which never materialized. Dalma described the conditions of her father's home hospitalization as deplorable, saying it was 'disgusting' and 'smelled like urine,' and highlighted that the promised 24-hour medical support was nonexistent. Prosecutors allege that Maradona suffered significantly during his final days, and the medical team's actions may have contributed to his death from heart failure and pulmonary edema. The trial is set to continue with numerous witnesses expected to testify over the coming months. If found guilty, the defendants could face up to 25 years in prison.
