Layla Allen, 13, Dies in Prescot House Fire

Thirteen-year-old Layla Allen tragically died in a house fire in Kingsway, Prescot, while a man, woman, and five children escaped unharmed. Layla had recently moved back to the home with her family after another fire had forced them to leave months earlier. The community and her school, Saint Edmund Arrowsmith Catholic Academy, have expressed their sorrow, remembering Layla as a vibrant and beloved student. A makeshift memorial with flowers and toys has been created outside the house. The fire, which started in a first-floor rear bedroom just before midnight, was extinguished by early Thursday morning. A joint investigation by Merseyside Police and Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service is underway to determine the cause of the blaze.
