Results are still coming in from across the US, after voters cast their ballots in a handful of key races on 5 March. In California, two candidates are separated by a handful of votes in their bid to replace outgoing Democratic Congresswoman Anna Eshoo in November. Assemblymember Evan Low currently leads his rival, Santa Clara County Supervisor Joe Simitian, by two votes, with 20 still to be counted. In Illinois, a tight race is emerging between Democrat Kim Foxx and Republican Pat O'Brien in the race for Cook County State Attorney, while in the race to succeed retiring Rep. Eshoo, former San Jose Mayor Sam Liccardo has secured a place in the general election, leading the pack with 21 per cent of the vote.
