Bruce Springsteen Releases Expanded Electric Nebraska Edition
Bruce Springsteen is set to release Nebraska ’82: Expanded Edition on October 17, 2025, a comprehensive box set featuring the long-sought Electric Nebraska sessions recorded with the E Street Band in 1982, alongside solo outtakes and a 2025 remaster of the original Nebraska album. The collection, available as a 4LP or 4CD set with a Blu-ray, also includes a newly filmed 2025 live performance of the Nebraska album in its entirety, captured at New Jersey’s Count Basie Theatre. Springsteen described the Electric Nebraska sessions as a punk rockabilly attempt to bring the stripped-down Nebraska songs into an electric context, exemplified by an unreleased version of "Born in the U.S.A." backed by Max Weinberg and Garry Tallent. This release follows Springsteen's recent reissue of mythic shelved records in the box set Tracks II: The Lost Albums, which includes a tribute performance to Elvis Presley, highlighting Springsteen’s musical influences and heartfelt reflections. The upcoming biopic Deliver Me From Nowhere, starring Jeremy Allen White, will debut shortly after, further celebrating Springsteen’s legacy. These projects underscore the enduring cultural and musical impact of Springsteen’s work, especially his narrative storytelling on Nebraska, which he regards as holding a special magic.
