Global Chess League Second Edition Begins October 3

The second edition of the Global Chess League is set to take place in London from October 3 to 12, 2024, featuring six franchises: the defending champions Triveni Continental Kings, Alpine SG Pipers, Ganges Grandmasters, Mumba Masters, PBG Alaskan Knights, and new entrant American Gambits. Each team will consist of an icon player and a mix of male, female, and young players, competing in a double round-robin format with matches broadcasted globally. Prominent players, including Magnus Carlsen and Vishy Anand, are among the 36 participants, highlighting the event's significance in the chess community. A gala opening ceremony included the announcement of Peter Doggers' new book, and the first matches are scheduled for October 3, 2024.
