Kulgam Operation: 2 Soldiers Killed, 11 Injured

Operation Akhal, a joint anti-terror mission involving the Indian Army, J&K Police, CRPF, and Special Operations Group, has entered its ninth day in the dense forests of Akhal, Kulgam, Jammu and Kashmir. Two Indian Army soldiers, Lance Naik Pritpal Singh and Sepoy Harminder Singh, were killed in an overnight gunfight, and at least 11 security personnel have been injured since the operation began on August 1. The operation was launched following intelligence about heavily armed terrorists in the area, though only one militant is confirmed killed, with unverified reports suggesting as many as three may have died.
