Kelly Ripa, Mark Consuelos Launch Scripted Audio Drama

Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos have reunited for a new project that revisits their soap opera roots through a fresh medium: a 10-episode scripted audio drama podcast titled Summer Breeze, now streaming on Audible. The series, inspired by 1990s daytime soaps, follows a struggling screenwriter whose script is stolen by a powerful producer played by Consuelos, prompting her to ally with a former soap opera star played by Ripa to seek justice through the fictional soap within the story. Their son, Michael Consuelos, also joins the cast, making the project a family affair alongside other notable actors such as Sarah Steele, Zack Gilford, and Ally Sheedy. The podcast blends classic soap opera elements like deception, forbidden romance, and jaw-dropping revelations with a modern, meta twist where the scheme blurs the line between fiction and reality. Written and executive produced by Aaron Tracy, the series is co-produced by Audible, Fresh Produce Media, and the couple's Milojo Productions. Ripa and Consuelos describe this as a full-circle experience, returning to the genre that launched their careers in a new and innovative format.
