Ferrell, Shannon Star in Netflix Golf Comedy

Will Ferrell and Molly Shannon will star in an untitled 10-episode Netflix comedy series, with Ferrell playing fictional golf legend Lonnie 'The Hawk' Hawkins and Shannon his ex-wife Stacy. This marks Ferrell's first scripted TV comedy and reunites him with Shannon after their SNL and film collaborations. The series was initially inspired by the real-life PGA and LIV Golf rivalry, but the anticipated merger between the leagues did not occur. Ramy Youssef, initially slated to co-star, departed due to creative differences. The executive producer team includes Rian Johnson, Ram Bergman, Jessica Elbaum, and Harper Steele. The show will compete with other golf comedies such as Apple TV+'s Stick and Netflix's upcoming Happy Gilmore 2.
