Delta Flight Evacuated After Engine Fire at Orlando Airport
A Delta Air Lines flight bound for Atlanta was forced to abort takeoff at Orlando International Airport after flames and smoke were observed coming from the tailpipe of one of its engines, prompting an emergency evacuation of approximately 200 passengers and 12 crew members. Emergency slides were deployed, and all passengers and crew safely exited the aircraft, with no injuries reported. The fire was quickly contained and extinguished by responding fire crews. Passengers were escorted back to the terminal, where Delta provided food, beverages, and assistance with rebooking travel. The airline has committed to bringing in additional aircraft to help affected travelers reach their final destinations and emphasized that safety remains its top priority. The Federal Aviation Administration has launched an investigation into the cause of the engine fire, while Delta maintenance teams are conducting a thorough examination of the aircraft.
