Police Shoot Man During Mental Health Incident
A 40-year-old man died after being shot by police during a mental health incident at his home in Craigburn Farm, South Australia, early Tuesday morning. Officers responded to reports of the man harming himself and, upon entering the residence, were threatened by the individual wielding a knife. Police attempted to use a taser to subdue him, but it was unsuccessful, leading to officers discharging their firearms. Paramedics treated the man at the scene before he was transported to the hospital, where he later died from his injuries. No police officers were injured during the confrontation, and an investigation by the Major Crime detectives, Forensic Response Section, and Internal Investigation Section is ongoing. Highfield Drive remains cordoned off as authorities conduct their inquiry.
