Florida Teen Arrested for Attempted Armed Robbery

A 15-year-old boy, Lamont Brandon Mack, was arrested for attempted armed robbery after his mother turned him in following a social media appeal by the Marion County Sheriff’s Office. The incident occurred on December 17 outside a Qwik King convenience store in Ocala, where Mack allegedly threatened a victim with a BB gun while demanding money. After the victim refused, Mack fled the scene on a bicycle, prompting the sheriff’s office to release his image online. His mother recognized him in the photo and brought him to the sheriff’s office, stating that his face had been 'all over the internet.' During questioning, Mack admitted to planning the robbery and acknowledged he used a BB gun. He has been charged with attempted robbery with a firearm and is now in the custody of the Department of Juvenile Justice.
