Increased Security Measures for 2024 Assembly Elections

As the Jharkhand Assembly elections approach, authorities have intensified security measures along the Jharkhand-Odisha and West Bengal borders to ensure a fair electoral process. New police check posts have been established to monitor vehicle traffic and prevent the transport of illegal cash, liquor, and weapons, with inspections ongoing at strategic locations. The initiatives include 12 inter-state and 6 inter-district check posts in Jamshedpur, aimed at curbing unlawful activities that could influence election outcomes. In addition, police in Ranchi have activated checkposts along the West Bengal border to further control potential election violations. These measures reflect a broader effort across regions, including Nashik, where similar actions are being taken to prevent smuggling during the elections.
